Adidas Rap

Kanye West presented his fashion collection collaboration with Adidas during New York fashion week. So? Is it news that Kanye takes a leading role as a designer? Nope! He has a fashion line with his name, couldn't be otherwise, and he did collaborations with APC back in winter 2014, Nike and Louis Vuitton in 2009 and Giuseppe Zanotti. What Adidas has done here is allocate a seat to Kanye as designer for a line of their sportswear brand, at a whopping $10 million bucks.  And no rapper in town could be best for this job than Kanye West, who is always to be seen in the most fashionable company (front rows of all relevant catwalks, Balmain campaign, Anna Wintour...). The highlight of his collection is the release of the "Yeezy 750 Boost" boots and this happened in the states during the NBA All Star weekend, 14/02, but the rest of us will have to wait until this coming weekend, 28/02, to get a pair.

Kanye West presentó su colección en colaboración con Adidas durante la pasada semana de la moda de Nueva York. ¿Y? ¿ Es noticia que Kanye cumpla con el papel de diseñador principal? No, no lo es. Kanye tiene una línea de ropa que lleva su nombre, como no, e hizo una colaboración con APC este pasado invierno, Nike y Louis Vuitton en 2009 y Giuseppe Zanotti. Lo que Adidas ha hecho aquí es reservar un asiento a Kanye como diseñador de una de sus colecciones deportivas, al asombroso precio de 10 millones de dólares.Y ningún otro rapero en la ciudad podría hacer este trabajo mejor que Kanye,  siempre en compañía de los más relevantes "fashionistas" ( en primera fila de los más importantes desfiles, campaña para Balmain, Anna Wintour...). La pieza más esperada de su colección es la presentación de las botas "Yeezy 750 Boost" y esto sucedió en América durante el NBA All Star weekend, 14/02, pero el resto de nosotros tendremos que esperar hasta este fin de semana, 28/02, para hacernos con un par.

Adidas has  also done collaborations with other relevant musicians, mostly from the rap scene, stepping up on their marketing campaign, mostly focused on the Adidas Originals range, to revamp and make the brand the coolest sports brand ever!!!

Adidas también ha hecho colaboraciones con otros músicos importantes , mayoritariamente del género rap, dando un paso hacia adelante en su campaña de marketing, enfocada principalmente en la línea Adidas Originals, para relanzar y convertir la marca deportiva en una pieza imprescindible de nuestro armario.

Pharrell hand painted 10 adidas Stan Smiths to be sold exclusively at Colette in Paris. All funds will go straight to his From One Hand To AnOTHER charity, which provides educational tools to disadvantaged kids.

But the sports brand also demonstrated to have sound ethics by dropping a collaboration with Teyana Taylor after a very public row between her and Rihanna in Twitter, Teyana changed her Twitter front pic by Rihanna's battered face picture of the domestic violence assault incident.

Pero la marca deportiva también demuestra tener una fuerte ética al cesar su colaboración con Teyana Taylor después de una pelea muy pública entre ella y Rihanna en Twitter. Teyana cambió su foto de usuario en Twitter por una foto de la cara de Rihanna tras su incidente de violencia doméstica.

Adidas also brings these celebrities together with their fans, and the Adidas fans, by organising special events where the music stars sign and customise live items for the fans, multiplying in that way their followers. Just another clever marketing strategy.

Adidas también une a estas celebridades con sus fans, y los fans de Adidas, mediante la organización de eventos especiales donde las estrellas de la música firman y personalizan en vivo artículos para los fans, multiplicando de esta manera sus seguidores. And to add up to all of this, Adidas has developed its very own app where any regular human is invited to customise their very own pair of Adidas and become a designer if only for half an hour. It is called #miZXFLUX. See some examples below…
